The Laziest Pasta of All Time
This pasta was created by my boyfriend and I when we were in college, and there was nothing to eat in the apartment. We were too lazy and too broke to go out to eat. We looked around the apartment and found a few edible items that would potentially make a meal- a box of pasta, a few cloves of garlic, olive oil, and my roommate’s package of cherry tomatoes. So we stole the tomatoes and created something out of nothing- and we’ve been making it ever since!
Depending on how lazy you’re feeling, you can either mince the garlic, or just crush the cloves and throw them in. Now I know that 8-10 cloves of garlic is a lot, but we both know you always add more garlic than the recipe asks for anyway, so consider this an accurate measurement. Other optional but very delicious additions to this pasta are fresh parsley, basil, red pepper flakes, and parmesan cheese.
The Laziest Pasta of All Time
- 1 lb angel hair pasta
- 1/3 cup olive oil (extra virgin)
- 8-10 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 1/2 cups cherry tomatoes (whole)
- 1/2 cup parmesean cheese (grated)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
-
In a large pot, bring water to a boil and cook your pasta until al dente, according to package instructions.
- Heat olive oil in separate large pan or dutch oven over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, if using. Sauté until fragrant, about 3 minutes.
- Add in your whole cherry tomatoes. Cook them until they start to soften and burst. You can help them along a little bit by pressing on them with your wooden spoon. Add salt and pepper to taste. I usually add about 2 teaspoons of salt and 1 teaspoon of pepper.
- Add drained pasta to the pan with the tomatoes and toss, coating every strand in olive oil and tomato sauce. Remove from heat, and if you’re using parmesan, parsley, or basil, toss those in now.
- Serve and enjoy!
